Hurricane Sandy Hits the Tri-State Area
I apologise for the delay in finishing my post. I'm currently in New Jersey for a nice relaxing vacation with my family.  I love to spend time with my nieces and nephews. Fun times to be had and I love making happy memories both for me and my family. One thing we won't be forgetting is hurricane Sandy. After the storm we were without power for 3 days and Internet for over a week.  I have had the chance to drive around and asses some of the damages and my heart breaks for those who have been affected by Sandy. In 1999 my family lost almost everything during hurricane Floyd and I remember how long it took to recover.  Please keep all those affected in your prayers.

Wee Princess is Growing

Wee Princess Etsy Shop Goings-ons

I decided to open my etsy shop so that I can share my love of creating unique one-of-a kind items that I make with yarn.

I learned to knit about 5 years ago and now I can't stop.  My mind is constantly filled with ideas to try to knit.  I always keep a journal with me, so that when I have an idea, I can jot it down. Some of my creations don't work out as I planned, but I always have fun making them!  I figure that's one of the best ways to learn.  I am also a big fan of YouTube tutorial videos.  When I need or want to learn a new stitch or technique, I have found YouTube to be and invaluable resource.

In my shop right now I have hand knitted cotton fingerless gloves.  All are my designs and patterns. Eventually I will be selling the patterns, as this will be more profitable for me.  I am in the process of learning how to write my own patterns and I am almost ready to add them to my shop.

Here are some of my creations:

Head on over to my shop and check out my other creations  http://www.etsy.com/shop/WeePrincess

Another of my goals is to start my own line of up-cycled girls clothing.  I will be incorporating my knitting into the process to create a one-of-a-kind outfit that your little princess can wear.
This is what I am working on now:

This outfit should be completed and in my shop by November.

Coming in January 2013 I will be offering a monthly DIY Kit. I am putting it together now and I will be posting more information and pics in the coming weeks.  I am so excited about being able to offer this opportunity for you.

Sunshine Farm Girl Co-op Etsy Team

An etsy team is a feature offered by Etsy, for shop owners who share common interests, to connect with and promote other etsy members on their team.  It is also a way for you, the customer, to browse or shop by theme or location.  Would you like to learn more and enhance your shopping experience on etsy?  Here is the direct link to Etsy's Help page on Teams: .http://www.etsy.com/help/article/332.

I am excited to tell you about the team that I have joined on Etsy.  It is called Sunshine Farm Girl Co-op.  Maybe you've seen us on MaryJane's Farm, Raising Jane Journal website.  And, soon to be in the MJF Dec/Jan 2013 issue of the magazine.

Marsha is the founder of the Sunshine Farm girl Co-op Team and  this is her mission statement copied directly from her website.

"My Mission

It really is a simple concept that I have.  To help other women and men succeed in supporting their families through their handiwork.  I am looking for women and men who are willing to put as much effort into making their business a success as I do in making the co-op a success.

Since our time and energy is precious these days more than ever, it only makes sense to use that time and energy wisely.  Thus, I formed the co-op to market and advertise as a group."

Some of the great features of our team, SFGC is that we offer the "Sampler Bag Program", a way to get your handmade items directly into the hands of the public. Another amazing benefit is that if you join as a Promo Club Member your shop will be promoted nationally on major websites.

Excited and want to learn more and join our amazing team!!

I am including a direct link to Marsha's  website  http://www.sunshinefarmgirlcoop.com/index.html

Wee Princess Shop Now Open!

Yay!  A new etsy shop and now a new blog!!

What more can a girl ask for.

First I'd like to say, Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog and I hope that you can visit my etsy shop, WeePrincess. I'll even make it easy for you.  Here's the link:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/WeePrincess.

While your there here is a coupon code for you to use for free shipping of one item: FreeShip1

Let me tell you a little about myself and what I dream of accomplishing with my etsy shop.
I am a Jersey girl, who relocated to Florida in 1999.  I have been married for 27 years and my husband and I  have raised 4 children (two boys and two girls).
Now I have a border collie named Mitch, who is like a child to me and my husband has a cat named Oliver, who is like a child to him.

I love sustainable living and the great outdoors.  My husband and I love to go antiquing whenever we get the chance.

I learned to knit about 5 years ago when I worked at an assisted living community. Now I can't stop!  After I learned the basic knit and purl stitch, I discovered  that "You Tube" was a great resource for learning.  Now I think knitting is a bit of an obsession.  After I made several knitted items following someone else's pattern, I thought, how hard would it for me to "design" my own pattern.  Well after some epic failed attempts, I have successfully designed several of my own patterns.  When I design a pattern I take my love of beauty, individuality and uniqueness and incorporate them into my design. No two pieces are the same.  I create a one-of-a-kind, superior quality product for your little princess to wear.

Some of my other  favorite things are: reading, bike riding,  painting, and spoiling my many nephews and nieces.

My dream for my etsy shop is to create custom knitted children's clothing and accessories, uniquely made upcycled children's wear, and fun, one of a kind, smashbooks and journals.  My mission is to provide you with a one of a kind, superior quality product, with a special attention to detail.  I am willing to go the extra mile to make sure that you are happy.
